CHALLENGE DAY: Challenge Day is BACK! March 29 (grades 11 & 12) and March 30 (grades 9 & 10)! Challenge Day is a powerful, day-long experiential workshop that will transform the way you view yourself, your class mates and the world around you. Deadline for permission slips is SOON-Wednesday March 3rd, so pick up your permission slip in Student Services, have your parent sign it and return it to the Challenge Day box outside Mrs. Hayes' office. Be the change you wish to see in the world!
AUDITIONS FOR MADRIGALS & BELLA VOCE FOR 2010-2011: Please see the door of room 90 for important information regarding auditions for these two choirs. Auditions for Madrigals will take place after school on Monday, March 16th. Auditions for Bella Voce will take place after school on Tuesday, March 17th. Both groups are very demanding of your commitment so please read the information carefully before you sign up.
YOUTH-SENIOR MENTORING PROJECT: High School students 14 and over can receive training to volunteer with Senior citizens in a variety of settings. You must apply by March 12 and attend two training sessions on March 19 and March 26. Details are posted under the window of the Multi-Media Center.
HOSPITAL INTERNSHIPS: The deadline to apply for the John Muir Hospital Internship is March 12. Current 10th & 11th graders may apply. Pick up the pink hand-out on the table in front of the Multi-Media Center. Applicants for the Kaiser Internship must be 15 or older, and from a lowincome family. E-mail Mrs. Brands to obtain the Kaiser application (brandsp@mdusd.k12.ca.us).
COLLEGE BOUND BLITZ: Are you a college-bound Junior? Sign-up in the College & Career Center for any or all of the presentations scheduled in March and April. The first presentation – Scholarship Search – will be during
Study Session on Friday.
JUNIOR PROM HOURS: The Junior Prom hours are from 7pm -10:30pm. The activity contract reads 7pm-10:30am. The event is not overnight.
TEEN JOB FAIR: The City of Walnut Creek is hosting its annual Teen Job Fair on Thursday, March 4, from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Civic ParkCommunity Center. Community service and other non-paid summer opportunities will be included for students as young as 13 years of age. Pick-up a flyer in the College and CareerCenter.
